On macOS, you also have the function of attaching windows to half the screen like Windows, the way is very simple. Drag and hold the “full screen” icon, the blue circle button on any window. When you hold here, the screen will zoom out slightly for you to “attach” this window to the left or right half of the screen as you like. Once installed, you can select the app to open in the other half of the screen. Very simple. With macOS 10.15 Catalina, you will also see a menu to select as shown below, and older macOS models as I said above.
In addition to attaching the app to the half screen, you can also move the app to another screen if you use two screens at once.
One more note is that when using macOS Catalina, the screen can be divided up to 4 different regions, allowing up to 4 windows. The method is similar to Windows: holding the application window and drag it to one of the 4 left and right upper and lower corners of the screen. The operating system will automatically “snap” the application to you.
This trick will help you use better multitasking on macOS. Good luck!
